Mr. Chase is the owner and publisher of The Daily Express and he is the father of Perry Chase.
Mr. Chase always looked down on his son, Perry, for not being masculine enough to meet his standards without ever realizing that his son was a super-hero known as the Press Guardian who saved the Daily Express on several occasions. However, Mr. Chase refused to allow his son to do anything other than the society column of his paper.
